Anne Kroeger

I have been working as a gardener in the Bay Area since 1996. My approach to landscaping is based on my experiences, both as an artist and a student of environmental science. Gardening is a creative process that explores the interaction between plants; their colors, textures, and the way they shape their environment. Plants help to create a sense of space. I enjoy working with my clients to create garden spaces that reflect their unique needs.

MY BIO

After fifteen years working as a landscaper, I have enjoyed great opportunities to grow as a designer. I have produced complete transformations in some yards, while improving existing designs in others.

Thanks to my course work with the Merritt College Horticultural Department, I am able to create and maintain all components of a healthy and beautiful garden.  I have extensive experience with aesthetic pruning, and seasonal pruning.  I can create effective design drawings that will provide my clients with a clear idea of the possibilities for the yard.  I have designed and maintained effective and water-efficient irrigation systems.

I graduated with a bachelor's degree from UCSC (Santa Cruz) in Urban Policy and Planning, under the Environmental Studies department. With an additional degree in art, I have found that creating and improving garden spaces is where I draw my greatest inspiration.  This type of work allows me to fuse both influences, the creative and natural world, into one great job.

What is important to me?

Creating and maintaining an outdoor retreat for my clients.  A tranquil space that encourages plant and animal life can be a place of both inspiration and relaxation where we can go to escape the stress of our daily life and routines.
